Infant Mental Health Therapy

Services provide parent-infant support and intervention services to families where the parent's condition and life circumstances or the characteristics of the infant threaten the parent-infant attachment and the consequent social, emotional, behavioral and cognitive development of the infant. Services reduce the incidence and prevalence of abuse, neglect, developmental delay, behavioral and emotional disorder.

My Qualifications

Experience You Can Count On

Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor 

  • Three years or 2,000 hours of supervised experience in AD counseling, 

    180 hours of education in ICRC/AODA related courses that are composed of the 12 Core Functions: Screening; Intake; Orientation; Assessment; Treatment Planning; Counseling; Case Management; Crisis Intervention; Client Education; Referral; Reports and Record Keeping; Consultation, 

    minimum of 300 hours of supervision which must include ten hours in each of the 12 Core Functions outlined above.

     6 hours of counseling ethics

  • Pass the ICRC/AADC (Advanced) Counselor written examination.

Fully licensed Social Worker 

Graduate with a master's degree from an educational program that is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Complete at least 4,000 hours of post-degree supervised social work experience over at least a two-year period.

Child Mental Health Professional 

Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) - Individual with specialized training and one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families and who is a physician, psychologist, licensed or limited-licensed master's social worker

Reliable Coverage

Balance Counseling LLC accepts most state funded and commercial insurances. I also accept cash, check and credit card payments to make it easier for you

If you do not have an accepted insurance plan, Balance Counseling would be happy to work with you to submit your insurance claim for out of network reimbursement. Clients are responsible for co-pays and deductibles as applicable.

Ashley Gilbert, LMSW, CAADC, IMH-E received my social work degrees from Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University. Imagine waking up every morning feeling balanced and simple. In 2019, I opened the doors to my practice to patients in the Middleville, Michigan area — offering them a wide range of counseling services to guide them through life’s challenges and most trying times. Life can get difficult, and sometimes a little help from a professional Therapist can make things better. I care about your well-being and provide you all the tools you need in order to seize the day and learn how to tackle even the most traumatic circumstances.

Sarah Hyvarinen is an intern/student who is participating in the Brandman University Social Work Program. She will be available to you for case management purposes if needed and or extra support. She will be graduating in May of 2020.
